Setting a Small Ancestor Altar
A corner to remember those before you

For Haggath, the dead are part of the household. A small shelf for them is as ordinary as a shelf for spoons.
What to place
- A photo or a name written on paper
- A white candle
- A glass of water
- Something they loved: bread, an apple, a flower
Caring for it
- Choose a quiet spot, not your bedroom.
- Change the water weekly.
- Light the candle on a day that matters to you and say a few words.
- On Dziady, at the start of November, add a bowl of food and leave a chair out.
There is no wrong way to remember someone kindly. White candles and altar cloths are in Haggath's shop.
