A three-minute check-in you can learn

Everyone who does this work well learned the same first skill: catching their own state before it catches them. It is not mystical. It is attention, trained.

The three-minute check-in

  1. Sit still, feet flat, hands in your lap. Close your eyes for three breaths.
  2. Scan from the scalp down. Name out loud the first three places holding tension. Not why — just where.
  3. Ask one question: "Is this mine?" Then wait. Do not answer it with a story.
  4. Ask a second question: "What do I actually want in the next hour?" Write the answer in under ten words.

Why "is this mine" is the important question

Most of what we call our mood is borrowed — a partner dread, a colleague panic, a family pattern. The question creates a gap wide enough to see the difference. If it is yours, it has a specific object and a date. If it is not, it floats, and it changes when you change rooms.

Keeping a record

Write one line a day: the state, and whether it was yours. After two weeks you can read your own patterns better than any stranger could, because you have the data. This is also how you learn what to bring to a reader — a written pattern beats a vague complaint.

When self-reading runs out

You cannot see your own blind spot; that is what makes it a blind spot. When the same question keeps coming back and you cannot tell whether you are lying to yourself, that is exactly when a second pair of eyes is worth paying for.

Kiki reads without cards, decks, or tools, and tells you what she finds rather than what you want to hear. Choose a reading type at Kiki Aura Studio.
